Diana Sherfield, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Billie Sherfield. started to school this year. Airman 2/C Ray Hampton Jackson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Jackson, at 149 Pine Street returned to duty at Iceland after spending 12 days at home with family. On Sunday, August 24, he was guest at a dinner given by his family at their home. He will be back in the states by December. Rav is stationed at Keflavik, Iceland. Judy Hughv, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Hnphv was 9 vears old September 23. WEAVING 3rd Shift By Chrislell Campbell Ollie V. Hayes visited his sister. Mrs. John Atkinson, during the weekend. Mrs. Chess King and Mrs. Jennene Johnson were visitors in Union this week. Chess King celebrated a birthday September 8. Charles Brown of Fort Benning, Ga.. has been visiting his sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Pace. Mrs. Daisy Lewis, aunt of Reba Dunaway. returned to Germany on September 5. She was home due to the death of her mother, Mrs. Sudie Grant. Reuben Overstreet had a birthday September 1. Ollie Mae Dean was 9 years old September 26. Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Overstreet spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Willie T. Lee of Columbia. While there they enjoyed a day of fishing. Jim Cauble said he was glad we were running six days this week. Billy Fennell enjoyed the races at Darlington on September 1. We wish to welcome Gladys Sanders and Lewis Williams to the third shift. They spent a recent weekend with Mrs. Whitt's parents. Mr. and Mrs. George Howell. O'Shields spent a day in Spartanburg with Mr. and Mrs. Mitchel Strange. Mrs. Charles Haivey and children have moved to Columbia to join her husband. who is stationed at Fort Jackson. Sgt Harvey is the son of Mrs. Alma Harvey. Mrs. Betty Lou Hostetler spent a weekend with her mother, Mrs. Narvis Godfrey. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Jennings Cook as recent guests, Mr. Walter Cook of Canton, N. C., and Mr. and Mrs. George Waldrop of Lowell, N. C. Labor Day guests of Mr. and Mrs. Quinton Jones were Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Scott and son, Mr. Sam Jones of Johnson City, Tenn., Mr. and Mrs. Bill Dixon and children of Greenville, S. Some were happy and some seemed unhappy. Your reporter was in Spartanburg on August .'10 to attend the funeral of an aunt. Mrs. Ola Grubbs, who died August 28. Well, the weather has got a bit cooler and I for one am sure proud of it. Luther Cothran had to loose two weeks due to an infected foot. Horace Smith, filling doffer. has been off several days due to sickness. Willie Wicker, filling spinner. had the misfortune to break a toe a few days ago. it was a home accident. We would like to welcome to the second shift the following spinners: Alsie Woody and Peggy Patterson from the third shift. We are glad to see the sick ones we wrote about last time all have got able to return to 5 Billy is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Davis, Lydia Mills. work and we hope everybody will be feeling better now that cool weather is here. Well, news is very scarce this time and will close by saying may the Lord bless and keep you until we meet again. SPINNING 3rd Shift By Ellen Culpepper Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Martin spent Sunday in Anderson with Mrs. J. C. Thomanson. Mrs. Cora Crow has returned to work after being out on leave of absence. Mrs. Dolly McCravy gave Ladon a birthday party August 22. We welcome Opal Reed to the 3rd shift. We also welcome Ada Johnson. Rubv Threatt. Fred White and Ellen Culpepper. Dot Martin has returned to work after being off on a leave of absence. Sl/C Billy Davis spent a weekend at home with his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Davis. Leather Smith was invited to a Bar-B-Q September 13. Harlev Culpepper. Mr. Jim Tinsley. Mrs. Pete Lapey and Kathv Culpepper went to Greenville Saturday. Joe Smith has been off from work a couple of days ill this week. Hope he is feeling better. Ida Gregory is spending the weekend in Greenville. Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Alexander are the happy grandparents of their first granddaughter. She arrived at Blalock Clinic September 2. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Gunner and son from Greer were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Lawson. Mr. and Mrs. Loyd Lee of Barnwell were also guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Lawson.
