Mrs. Reba Iliott's sister from Anderson spent the weekend with her. Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Atkinson and son spent the holidays with her family in Scotdale, Ga. Steve Fennell will be six January 21. Mrs. Chess King and children, Yvette and Ann. and Mrs. Floyd Emery and Flo spent Sunday. December 29th, with relatives in Union. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Hawkins are the Droud nnr r i ents of a big boy. Ho was born December 7th and weighed 8 lbs. and 9 ozs. Mr. Hawkins would like to thank everyone for their kindness during his illness. We wish to welcome James Ammons to the third shift. And also welcome Raymond Hawkins back after being out quite a few weeks. Shelia Ann Vanderford was five December 26. Mr. and Mrs. James Vandei ford celebrated an anniversary Dec. 21. Virginia Baker has a birthda v Jan 6 Henry Overstreet will be 18 Jan. 22. Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Overstreet went to Columbia to visit Mrs. Overstreet's mother. Mrs. Alma Lee. Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Holder and family spent several days during Christmas holidays with Mr. and Mrs. James Amnions and family. Mr. Holder, from Ohio, is Mr. Amnion's brother. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Nelson and family of Laurens visited Mrs. Wilma Stone during the holidays. Casper Gregory and Jimmy Earl Gregory have birthdays in January. Mr. Gregory said all great men arc born in January. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Campbell and son. Mike, spent Christmas Day with Mrs. Campbell's mother in Greer, S. C. Vouss truly has a birthday January 4. But is not tolling how many years. Sure hope everyone had a Merrv Christmas and a Happy New Year. Here it is 195fl and it doesn't seem any time since 1957 started. Time sure does fly. I don't know about the rest but I for one enjoyed our week off. "Granny" Bailey spent the holidays with her brother, T. W. Grace and familv in Pineville, N. C. Mr. and Mrs. Gene Alexander and familv visited his brother, James Alexander, in Thomason, Ga. Mr. and Mrs. Russell Griffin of Macon, Ga., Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Bagwell of Johnson City, Tenn., visited Mrs. Sue Ranks: Mrs. Lille Bell Millan is out on sick leave. BM 1C and Mrs. James Satterfield announce the arrival of a baby boy on December 28. He is named for his grandfather, Charles Martin. Mrs. Satterfield is the former Dot Cobb. Mrs. Florence Evervin of Clearwater visited her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Mart Satterfield, a few days during Christmas. Mrs. Lizzie Hawkins spent Christmas in Seneca with her son and family, the Harold Hawkins. Pvt. Billv Willard has returned to Fort Jackson after spending a leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claud Willard. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Howell are the proud parents of a new baby girl, named Kathy Dianna, born Dec. 28th. Mrs. Howell is the former Marv Fort en berry. Sgt. Walley YVhitt of Eglin Field, Florida, is home on leave with his wife and baby. Claudine and "Roxic". Mrs. Addie Coleman and granddaughters. Janet and Linda Roper, spent a day with Mr. and Mrs. Mat Davis near Clinton. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. J B. O'Shields are their son and daughter-in-law, A 2C and Mrs. Jimmy O'Shields and son. THE CLOTHMAKER WOMAN'S CLUB MEETING The Lydia Woman's Club met on Monday evening, December 16, in the beautifully decorated community building for their regular monthly meeting with Mrs. Horace Smith presiding. The devotional was brought by Mrs. David Word. During the business session the 1958 officers were elected and installed. Miss Nellie Osborne installed the officers in an impressive candle lighting service. She sang "One Little Candle" with Mrs. Janice Goss at the piano. During the social hour Miss Marv .Johnson lod tho rrronn in singing Christmas carols with Miss Beverly Webb as accompanist. Gifts were exchanged from the beautiful lighted tree. Mrs. Smith, outgoing president, was presented a gift from the club in appreciation for her good work for the past two years. Fruit cake and coffee were served. The new officers are: President. Leland. who is a patient in Shriners Hospital in Greenville. Mr. and Mrs. Maxie Reeder of Laurens are proud parents of a son born January 2nd. Mrs. Reeder is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Motte.
