It is a sad fact that safety does bore most people to a state of mild (and sometimes not so mild) irritation. Safety is the negative side?it amounts to not getting hurt or killed. A speech or article on how to work and live safely doesn't have the emotional kick of a report on a dramatic gruesome accident. Being safe isn't news, so it seems dull. Accidents continue to happen largely because people are: 1. Bored, or 2. Cocksure about their safety knowledge and judgment. But anyone who is bored with safety talk should ask himself: "If my own son or daughter were doing my job today, would I refrain from 'boring' him by telling him how to be safe on the job?" A lot of people are smarter than they look?they ought to be. |HPP^ *mM he Girls' Auxiliary of the Pentefalentine banquet February 15 at different games, including "Truth oy the group.
