( Twenty thousand appreciative citizens of Pickens county craved the inclement weather to participate in the fair program, which thi> officers of the fair had labored hard to perfect in; t jvery respect. Governor-elect Cole L. Blease was present on the first day and i made a speech that will live ij long in the minds of those who. wailed, themselves of the opportunity that was offered them. He assured our people that he appreciated the complimentary : vote which we gave him and frankly stated that while ho held no malice against those that opposed him honorably, he ? -i ?--- ii inucuucu uu sLcinu uy tut; 111*311 | that were his friends when he needed friends. He also spoke in the highest and most commendable way j relative to the great order of the Woodmen of the World.
