Welborn, who was at homo for a couple of days last week, will graduate in June. George deserves much credit for the stand he has taken at college, for he has not had the advantage that many boys have had. The rudiments and fundamental principles of an education were gotten at the free terms of Hampton school and the determination to get an education was evolved between the plow handles. Martin J. Welborn should be proud of the family he has raised and of the posterity ho shall leave to help make up Pickens county's citizenship. ?Last Monday evening, Mr. Dave Moore was walking down the street when little Boone Carey eanie np to him with an uncorked bottle of ammonia in his hand and tried to get Mr. Moore to smell of it. Dave instinctively threw up his hand and part of the contents was thrown into his face and eyes, most of it going into the left eye.
