Mr. Iling Crenchaw to Miss Lizzie Gilstrap. The young couple have the good wishes of many friends. All of Pickens Co. ?On Saturday night the 26th at 12 o'clock the barn and stables of A. B. 7'aley was destroyed by hro and all the contentt except his horses and cattle. A lot of hay and fodder, guano, saddle and bridals and harness, one buggy, ono two-horse Neicon wagon almost new, and many other farm tools. One mule was so badly burnep that it is unable to work. There was 110 insurance. ?Mr. W. M. Batson, of the Sandy Flat section, brought two milch cows to Greenville yesterday for sale, and one of them had but two teats. The cow attracted much attention. She gives three gallons of milk a clay, and the mere fact that she hasn't but two teats doesn't seem to handicap her any in her milk giving qualities. She was sold for a good figure.?Greenville News. ?Mrs. W. W. Martin died at the home of her son S. C. Martin five miles north-west of Pickens, on last Monday after a lingering illness, at an advanced at/ft- Hfir rfimnino wnrn in. terred at Seneca on Tuesday evening at 2 o'clock. She leav i several sons and daughters, besides a host of relatives and friends to mourn her death. Frank Porter, a good ami substantial citizen and farmer, living a few miles above town, was dead. He was in Pickens 011 Saturday but his friends who saw him that day little thought that it would bo his last trip. His remains were interred at Porter's Chapel the day following following his death, a large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends attending. He leaves a wife and several children, besides other relatives and friends to mourn his death. ?Craig Bros, believe in drawing the trade to Pickens. For Saturday they have 100 packages of goods to be sold for 25c. each. Among this lot is onu containing a good suit of clothes. The bundles will all be alike and numbered from 1 to 100. Each purchaser will be required to select a number, which will be recorded, and no package will be delivered and allowed to be opened until all the packages have been sold. Each and every package will be composed of good staple goods and will be a bargain at the price. The sale will begin promptly at 11 o'clock and continue until all the packages have been disposed of.
