FOUND IN OUR DAILY MAIL The Farmers' Union is a great organization, but it could be made greater if all the farmers would join it. Why not enroll your name at once? Fathers and mothers: You can't expect your graduate daughter to settle right down to corned beef and cabbage after she's lived a wnole year on pick les and f udge. A considerable amount of cot tonhas been abandoned through out the county on account of the grass and some of the fields have been sown in peas. A good wife has said: Before passing your final judgement on that husband of yours and claiming he's neglecting you, just take a pencil and tablet, write down all his faults, and be side that column write down hic good points. Then write down your own faults, and next you good' traits. Then addup and see which is the worst of thE two. Ten chances to one thE husband's good points will out weight your own. And Evelyn Thaw used to be called "the angel child." .Date Of Holding Fair At the meeting of the Execu tive Committee of the Fair As sociation, and the Chairman of the several committies, to be held next Monday, August 16th, the exact date of the Fair will be decided upon. This date will be published in the next issue of this paper. Look out~ for it, but in the meantime, get busy and decide on something that you want to exhibit at the Fair. Every merchant and every busi ness man in Pickens is consti tuted a committee of one for the purnose of getting in touchl with the people who want to of fer premiums, and the Finance Committee is at work raising the neccessary funds to insure valuable and attractive prem iums which will be given ac cording to merit. It becomes every citizen of Pickens County Ito be at work trying to raise and have ready for this Fa'r some exhibit that will reflect credit Iboth upon the person making the exhibit and upon Pickens County. The Executive U i mittee of the Pickens (tu.-y Fair Association has bin c 'Ld to meet at the office of the pres ident of the Fair, T. J. Mauldin, on next Monday, August 16th. at 11 o'clock a. m. The Chair man of every committee of the Fair Association is expect to be on hand at this meeting. This is an important meeting of the Fair Association for the reason that it is high time that definite arrangements were being made in order to insure the success of the Fair. The entire Executive Committee of the Fair Associ ation and the Chairman of every Committee is earnestly urged to be present at the time and place state.
