The Senate also unanimously passed a bill recognizing that next week is Engineers Week. The allocation of student activity fees received its first reading, and it will be voted on next week. Also receiving its first reading was a bill that would amend the executive codes regarding the president’s cabinet. The bill relieved some of the existing code’s strictness by allowing the president to appoint cabinet members according to what his administration wants to do in the Senate. Under existing rules, 10 cabinet positions are detailed; the bill would dictate only six positions. Comments on this story?
