This is the first time the Panthers have won a game in which Smith has . more than 100 yards. Dallas receiver Terry Glenn has evolved into one of the best fantasy football players this year. He has outscored Oakland’s Randy Moss, Joey Galloway and Marvin Harrison. In week five against Philadelphia, Glenn totaled 118 yards and two touchdowns in a blowout win. Denver’s Tatum Bell was the highest scoring running back this week, running for 127 yards and two touchdowns. He is sharing time with starter Mike Anderson, getting fewer touches than probably he would like. This was the first game this year in which he has gone for more than 100 yards. The biggest disappointments in this week are some of the biggest names. The Colts’ Peyton Manning continues his less-than-stellar season. Manning has fewer points than brother Eli, Cleveland’s Trent Dilfer and Tennessee signal caller Steve McNair. After throwing four touchdowns last week, Peyton looked to be out of his slump; however, he only urthrew one touchdown and two interceptions against San Francisco, which has the worst These guys are just wasting space on your bench. Pittsburgh running back Jerome Bettis is back from injury and looked healthy in the Steelers’ Monday night game against San Diego; he had 54 yards on 17 carries and a touchdown. Bettis might not rack up the yards, but he gets the call in many red-zone and goal-line situations, which means he will rack up touchdown points. His next two games are against St. Louis and Houston (not known for their defense), but he is still not a guarantee to put up big numbers. Eagles receiver Terrell Owens was also a big disappointment this week. He had only five catches for 50 yards in a beatdown in Dallas. His quarterback Donovan McNabb threw for only 131 yards and no touchdowns against a Dallas secondary seen as vulnerable. If you are ndooking for consistency, these are not your peeps. Looking ahead to next week, running back Ricky Williams returns to the Dolphins after serving his suspension the first four weeks of the season. He will share time with Ronnie Brown. He probably won’t have a big week, but he will take some yards away from Brown. Seattle receiver Joe Jurevicius will be a great pickup in your league. Coming off a 137-yard, one-touchdown performance last week, the Seahawks will Uface Houston and its lackluster pass defense; Jurevicius could put up some big numbers this week. Buccaneer’s receiver Joey Galloway would also be a good pickup if available; Tampa Bay plays Miami this week. Alert: If you have Houston quarterback David Carr, Carolina receiver Keary Colbert or Denver receiver Ashley Lelie, you should drop them immediately; alternate players could serve you better. She keeps in close contact with her teammates by completing her rehabilitation during practice. “I either come in a little before practice or I stay after practice, and then all throughout practice I have rehab too,” Vanden Hull said. “We work on my range of motion, bending and sliding my foot up to see how far I can go. She is not yet traveling with the team, but will likely return to attending road games in the near future once she has been given medical clearance. Although the team has had to make a number of adjustments and is still striving to compensate for the loss of Vanden Hull, Somera is trying to focus on. the concealed benefits on the situation. “If there is any positive to Lynae’s injury,” Somera said, “it is the development of some of our younger players. Now- all three of our (eligible) freshmen are out there playing.” Comments on this story? E-mail gamecocksports@gwm.sc.edu NAME: Lynae Vanden Hull ■ POSITION: Outside Hitter HOMETOWN: Papillion, Neb.
