plainant said someone forced open
a meted cabinet and stole a Sony
VCR, a Pioneer DVD player and a
Mackey sound board. Total esti
mated value: $400. Reporting offi

0 LARCENY OF KEY, BARNWELL
COLLEGE, 1517 PENDLETON ST.
The complainant said someone
stole a master key from her key
ring, which she left in the equip
ment room door. Two keys were
attached to the ring in place of the
master key. Reporting Officer:

Saturday, July 17
Q MINOR IN POSSESSION OF AL
COHOL, BORROWING ANOTHER’S
DRIVER’S LICENSE, 600 HARDEN
ST. Reporting Officer M. Denard
saw Stacy Ann Hobgood unsteady
on her feet and slurring her
speech. He made contact with her,
and she told him, “I’m drunk.”
Denard asked her for her ID, and
she gave him an S.C. ID belonging
to another woman older than 21.
Friends kept telling the subject to
show her real driver’s license,
which she eventually did. Denard
issued her two citations.

J.M. Simmons responded to the
scene after complaints of a possi
ble ammonia leak. Simmons met
with the complainant, who said an
Air Star ammonia tank had been
leaking for as long as an hour. She
said she was able to seal the tank
but not before she inhaled ammo
nia fumes. Columbia Fire
Department, Columbia Police
Department and EMS responded.
EMS checked the complainant
and released her. Columbia Fire
Department checked the tank and
found it was sealed. The area was
taped off and locked for at least 24
hours per Columbia Fire
Department guidelines. All proper
command staff were notified as
well as Health and Safety. The
dean of Engineering was also no
tified. \

SUMTER ST. Complainant said
someone somehow broke the glass
window on the right hand double
door of the building’s south side.
Maintenance was notified.
Estimated damage: $125.

The complainant said someone
somehow stole his gray Toshiba
laptop computer. Estimated val
ue: $1400. There was no sign of
forced entry into the room.
