The second game between
them, in Athens, Ga., was an
instant classic in the series.
Georgia stormed back from a
19-point, first-half deficit to
take a late lead in the game.
But USC, down four points
with 17 seconds left, drained a
pair of three-pointers to send
the game to overtime. The
Gamecocks then rallied from
another five-point deficit to
force a second overtime,
which Georgia finally won 96
91.
Overall, Georgia leads the
series between the two
schools 21-4, though USC won
both games in the 2001-2002
season. Also, according to col
legerpi.com, Georgia is
ranked 11th overall and has
the eighth-toughest schedule
in the nation.
The two teams will meet at
3 p.m. on Sunday in the
Colonial Center for a matchup
that will be televised on Fox
Sports Net South.
