The women garnered nine victories, including the 4x400-meter relay, while the men nabbed four. The best USC finish of the meet was the 1-2-3 sweep by Lashinda Demus, Tiffany Ross and Tawana Watkins in the 400 meter dash. Demus claimed the first-place finish with a time of 55.01 sec onds. BRIEFLY On a roll, the women won four of the first five running events. Aleen Bailey claimed the top spot in both the 60-meter dash and the 200-meter dash. Khalilah Carpenter finished sec ond in the 60-meter dash. Demetria Washington grabbed the 500-meter title with a time of 1:11.34, beating out the second place finisher by two seconds. In the field events, Lori Tvarkunas won the pole vault, Antoinette Wilks claimed the triple jump and India Odum won the weight throw competition. Nicole Kendrick and Odum fin ished 1-2 in the shot put as well. Bradley finishes 4th in American Cup USC’s merr and women divers continued competition at the Speedo American Cup Championships on Saturday in Bloomington, Ind. Carolina sophomore Andy Bradley fin ished in fourth place in the 3-me ter competition. Bradley won his first one-on-one contest versus Joona Puhakka, with a score of 386.34-362.04. In addition to Bradley, three USC women’s divers qualified and competed in the prelimi nary competition of the 3-meter board. Tracey Richardson placed 13th (229.38), Lauren King finished 19th (212.82) and Allison Brennan was 23rd (192.60). The USC women’s divers will compete next weekend in Fayetteville, Ark., as the 19th ranked USC women’s swimming and diving team swims against Arkansas in a dual meet.
