The complainant said someone took a black Zenith VCR from the Law School Court Room. The com plainant was unsure if the room was locked. Estimated value: $85. Reporting officer: D. Hare. May 21 ® LARCENY OF PLAYSTA TION, 500 SUMTER ST. The victim said she was awak ened by someone using a key to en ter her room. The subject was with housing and had entered to clean the room. The subject left upon finding the room occupied. The victim said the door was locked and she went back to sleep. Upon awakening, the victim found the following items missing: a Playstation game console, acces sories, games, and a George Foreman Grill. Estimated value: $710. The subject was later ques tioned. Reporting officer: J. A. Clarke. May 22 ® STEAM LEAK, 911 PICK ENS ST. The reporting officer observed a possible steam leak and notified Columbia Fire Department. The leak was in the walls of the first and second floor. Reporting officer: J. Means. May 23 ® LARCENY OF KEYS, 902 BARNWELL ST. The complainant said someone removed one set of housing keys from a secured lock box. Complainant said the keys give someone complete access to Capstone. Five keys were taken, in cluding a general access key and an elevator key. Estimated value: $5. Reporting officer: J. A. Clarke. May 30 © LARCENY OF DESK PHONE, 1512 PENDLETON ST. The victim said someone re moved a Panasonic desk phone from his office. Estimated value: $100. Reporting officer: D. Pardue. B SIMPLE ASSAULT, 743 GREENE ST. The victim said Donnie Driggers punched him in the mouth and spilled hot coffee on his left arm. The two were involved in a verbal argument over the use of a cell phone. The victim declined to press charges. Reporting officer: J. B. Coaxum. May 31 O FLOOD, 1405 WHALEY ST. The reporting officer respond ed to a fire alarm at Bates West. A broken sprinkler on the third floor was discovered. The first, second, and third floors were flooded as a result. The complainant said a Gateway 2000 computer was miss ing from her inventory Estimated value: $5886. Reporting officer: N. DeHaai. ® LARCENY OF HARDRIVE, 5111 MAIN ST. The complainant said a Western Digital hard drive was taken from computer service. The building is secured by card access. Estimated value: $150. Reporting officer: D. Hare. June 3 ® AUTO BREAK-IN. B-10 LOT PICKENS ST. The reporting officer found the victim's vehicle in the B-10 lot with the driver's side glass broken out. The vehicle was hot-wired and would start with the push of a but ton lying on the driver's seat. Officer Pereira found a change purse and cigarettes lying in the grass next to the car. The vehicle wa6 taken to the impound lot for safekeeping. Estimated damage: $250. Reporting officer: J. A. Henry and E.
