work,” she said.
“We’ve been talking about it
in the past, and a lot of people
have even mentioned that we
should try to be a part of the meal
plan through USC.”
Perkins said during the win
ter, USC students account for
half of Beezer’s business, with lo
cal businesses taking their place
during summer months.
“I think that it is not neces
sarily a deal or not a deal,”
Perkins said. “It’s the same price
as what it would be if they came
in and purchased the food them
selves. It’s just prepaying for food
so that if they don’t have any
cash at 2 o’clock in the morning
and they want something to eat,
they can come and use their meal
card.”
OCA is currently looking to
hire a USC representative,
preferably a third- or fourth-year
student, to work with the Five
Points Meal Plan manager and
ensure proper student feedback.

A business has contracted with local restaurants to offer college “meal plans." Here’s how they compare.
