NFL Draft
CONTINUED FROM PAGE 1
rounded out the USC selections by
going as the 193rd pick to the
Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
This year's draft marked the first
time the Gamecocks have had more
than two players go before the sixth
round. The five USC selections tied
the highest number of players from
the school that have been drafted
in, one year. The last time Carolina
had five players drafted was in 1988,
when the NFL draft had 12 rounds
instead of seven.
USC players who didn't get
drafted but might sign a free-agent
deal with NFL teams include
Kenny Harney, Phil Petty and
Brian Scott.
Carolina's in-state rival
Clemson suffered in this year's
draft, as none of its players were
drafted. The Tigers' most notable
undrafted player is former
Heisman Trophy candidate
Woody Dantzler.
