ASHLEY VAUGHAN THIRD-YEAR-ENOLISH STUDENT Former candidate gives best wishes Running for Student Government president is something that I could have only imagined a few years ago. And while I didn't achieve my ultimate goal, it was an amazing experience. I would like to thank a few people who helped make it that. To my campaign manager Charaka Cook: Thank you for everything. No matter what came along, you were a beacon of hope and strength. To my scheduling team of Tranaka Oglesby, Kinsey Cooper, Heather Hornick and Lauren Vaughn: I don't know what I would have done without you. Because of you, we were able to get our message across and meet so many people. To my guys — J.D. Shipman, Patrick Norton,Tfustin Simmons, Allan Tate, Scott Sowell, Chris Maner, Adam Hark, Gopal Chakrabarti and Ben Edwards: All I can say is that you guys are going to do amazing things. Thank you for all your time and support. I can only hope I can return the favor some day. To my girls — Melissa Reid, Stacy Rainey, Debbie Parker, Kelly Bowen and Christina Durham: You all have been there through thick and thin. Thank you for taking a chance on me. I wish you the best. To everyone I didn't get to mention: You are going to do great things at this university and in life. I can only pray that I will get to see those great things. Thanks for everything. I won't be endorsing anyone in the runoff for SG president. I do, however, offer my support. I am a believer in David Bornemann and his passion, ambition and idealism. I believe in Ankit Patel and his call to give back the university to student organizations and give everyone a voice. The one thing I will endorse is the student body's right to choose. It isn't my place to say who should win—that's the student's job. And I challenge every student on this campus to be involved in your university and in your college experience. Learn the issues, voice your concerns and be heard. SG's role should be as a voice of the students, not as g. voice for itself. So take it back. By taking back your student government, you take back your university.
