Answering a loud party call, the reporting officer encountered Jeffrey M. Winterling. When asked for identification, Winterling produced a New Jersey driver’s license showing the date of birth to be Feb. 17, 1980. Winterling said he is only 18 and that his correct date of birth is Feb. 17,1983. Winterling is from Maryland, not New Jersey. Winterling stated that he used the fake ID to purchase the alcohol. He was arrested for underage possession of beer and and an altered driver’s license, and he was taken to the Richland County Detention Center. Reporting officer: M. P. 0 LARCENY OF LAPTOP COMPUTER, 107 SOUTH MARION ST. The victim said someone took a blue and gray Hewlett Packard laptop computer from an unlocked dorm room at the Roost. Estimated value: $2000. Reporting officer: J. A. Clarke, o LARCENY OF BICYCLE, 1312 PENDLETON ST. The victim said someone took a gray Specialized Expedition bike. Estimated value: $300. Reporting officer: C. Taylor. o DISORDERLY CONDUCT, ASSEMBLY STREET While on routine patrol, the reporting officer observed Jean L. Kent walking around inside the Strom Thurmond Wellness Center construction site on the Assembly Street side. The officer approached Kent and noticed she had a strong odor of alcohol, and that her speech was slurred and she was unsteady on her feet. Officer Rosier had previously warned Kent to stay off USC property. Kent was placed under arrest and transported to the USCPD. Kent’s left ankle was swollen and she requested medical treatment. She was transported to the Baptist ER. Reporting officer: E. R. Stoudemire. o LARCENY OF MONEY, 107 SOUTH MARION ST. The victim said someone took $40 cash and a Carolina First debit card from an unlocked dorm room at the Roost. Reporting officer: B. Timbers. Saturday, Feb. 2 © MALICIOUS INJURY TO REAL PROPERTY, 1501 DEVINE ST. The complainant said someone broke out the window of a door at Sims. Estimated damage: $50. Reporting officer: M. P. Moore. Q MALICIOUS INJURY TO REAL PROPERTY, 1621 GREENEST. While on patrol, the reporting officer found one broken USC area light lying on the ground on the Greene Street side of the Nursing building. Estimated damage: $300. Reporting officer: R. A. Whitlock. © TRESPASS AFTER NOTICE, 1400 GREENE ST. The subject is a juvenile who has been warned multiple times by the reporting officer to stay off USC property. The reporting officer notified the parents on the phone several times before. The reporting officer observed the subject on USC property and detained him and transported him to USCPD. The subject’s father was notified and responded to take custody of the subject. A custodial promise was completed. Investigator Snyder was notified. Reporting officer: M. L. Gooding. © DRIVING UNDER SUSPENSION, CORNER OF BLOSSOM AND MAIN ST. The reporting officer observed Scott Kenneth Jenkins disregard a stop light at the intersection of Greene and Main streets. The reporting officer made a traffic stop for the violation. An NCIC check showed that Jenkins’ South Carolina driver’s license was under suspension. Jenkins was arrested and transported to the Richland County Detention Center. Reporting officer: J. A. Clarke Jo MALICIOUS INJURY TO REAL PROPERTY, 1501 DEVINE ST. Someone wrote graffiti on the walls of the hallway, stairwell and doorframes of Sims. Major Grabski and Investigator Snyder were notified of the incident. Estimated damage: $200. After the custodial staff cleaned the original graffiti, the reporting officer was called back. Someone had written more graffiti on the walls near the water fountain and on the door of the custodian supply room. Estimated damage: $100. Reporting officer: J. B. Coaxum.
