NRC spokesman William Beecher said the agency would have no comment. “We do not discuss the details of any of our (security) advi sories,” he said. Sumter Street cars to be towed Monday Starting Feb. 4, the con struction on Sumter Street will be expanded to include the middle of the street. Traffic lanes will be moved to the out side. Planning and construction officials said Thursday that starting next week, all cars parked on Sumter Street be tween Greene and Blossom streets will be towed. Plans have also been made to close the access between the Thomas Cooper Library and the back of Longstreet Annex. Students trying to cross Sumter Street will soon have to do so at the Greene Street or Blossom Street intersections. These changes accommo date the Sumter Streetscape Project that will eventually produce a tree-lined island in the middle of the street and a new bus station and walkway behind Longstreet Annex.
