Reporting officer: M. Craska. ■ Illegal use of telephone, harassing, Sims Residence Hall. Employee Caroline Phillips said someone has been placing obscene telephone calls to Ashley Housaman and Alex Singer. Housaman and Singer were advised to contact Housing for a change in phone number. Reporting officer: M. Craska. Saturday, June 16 ■ Simple assault, Moore Residence Hall. Student Moneica McKnight said student Stephano Blake took her car keys and bit and scratched her arm numerous times when she reached for them. What appeared to be scratch marks were seen on her arm and right hand. Blake admitted to biting and scratching McKnight. Blake was arrested for simple assault and transported to the Richland County Detention Center. Reporting officer: J. Rosier. ■ Simple assault, Thornwell Residence Hall. Student Amanda Chadee said she and student Lisa Barrow have had an ongoing argument that escalated to physical violence when Barrow kicked her in the right hip. Chadee declined medical treatment. The R.A. and Housing were contacted. Chadee also declined to press any charges at the time. Reporting officer: M. Craska. Friday, June 15 ■ Bomb threat, Sims Residence Hall. Student Kristen Ballard said at 10:50 a.m., someone called the front desk of the residence hall and said, “There is a bomb in the building.” Ballard immediately notified police. The building was checked, but no device was found. Reporting officer: J. Rosier. Later at 3:50 p.m., someone called again and said, “Bombs.” The area was checked again, but no device was found. Reporting officer: Morales. ■ Autobreaking, larceny of eyeglasses. Pendleton Garage. Employee Nicole Hopkins said someone cut the convertible top of her vehicle and removed a pair of prescription eyeglasses, a portable CD player and a black leather zipper case with a total estimated value of $375. The damage to the vehicle was reported to be moderate. Reporting officer: M. Craska. ■Grand larceny of laptop, Jones Physical Science Center. Employee William Graf said upon returning to his secured office, he noticed that a laptop computer with an estimated value of $1,200, was missing. There were no signs of forced entry. Reporting officer: M. Craska. Thursday, June 14 ■ Vehicle fire. 1200 Greene St. While on patrol, Officer J. Coaxum saw Shaik Khader near his car, which was heavily smoking. Khader said he had seen flames before the officer arrived. The Columbia Fire Department was called, and the situation was brought under control. ■ Larceny of game console. Student Bennett Swygert said someone removed a Sony Playstation, controllers and three games from his room, with a total estimated value of $510. Student Brian Elam said Swygert’s door doesn’t lock and has previously been reported to housing. Reporting officer L. Forte spoke to Housing again about fixing the lock. ■Larceny of trash cart, business administration building. Employee Leveston Wilson said someone removed a large gray trash cart from the east side entrance of the building with an estimated value of $350. Reporting officer: G. Whitlock. It's Your Choice!
