Office of the registrar
You need lo find out your grades. You need to
register lor classes. You need to pay your academic
tees. You need to pay your tuition and fees. And on
:op of everything, you need to know where you can
Jo ft all.
Luckily, USC provides two easy ways to do all
hat and more; one is just a mouse click away, the
it her is ;is close ;ts the nearest telephone.
Visual Information Processing, or VIP, is a Web
site that provides a number of useful services to stu
Jents, including course registration.
The Telephone Information Processing System
TIPS) offers many of the same services via any Touch
Tone p~~r,c.
Using VIP, students cttn obtain their registra
:ion appointment times, then register for, and alter,
heir schedules, all by using the easy point-and-click
nterface.
Students can even find information on the class
es they want — like schedule codes, meeting dates
tnd times and professors—on the Internet by check
ng out the online course listings at iugo.regs.sc.edu.
Other features available on VIP include view
Hggrades, a very helpful option since USC does not
nail out grade reports in most instiuices.
Students may also view ;uid print their schedule
and unofficial transcript, change their address with
the University, and check the status of financial ait
and scholarships.
One of the newest features of VIP is the fee
payment option.Students can now pay their tu
ition and fees using VIP with a VISA/ Master Card
or Discover credit card.
Students who have sufficient financial aid and/or
scholarships to cover their complete academic
fees may apply them to their bill over the Internet
at VIP.
Also, students who have bank accounts regis
tered with the Bursar’s Office Electronic Check
Transfer (ECT) program, may authorize payment
of their academic fees over VIP.
Contact the Bursar’s Office for more informa
tion on ECT (777-3555).
Students can also perform registration and tu
ition/fee payment activities over the phone with
TIPS.
While it doesn’t provide the graphical and print
ing features of VIP, TIPS is still a good alternative
for registration and fee payment functions.
Plus, you can hear your grades on TIPS.
TIPS also allows for fee payment with VISA
or MasterCard, in addition to the methods provid
ed on VIP.
To access TIPS and VIP, you’ll need your stu
dent number (Social Security number) and your per
sonal identification number (PIN).
Now that you know where you need to go, you
need to know how to get there. To access VIP, go to
http://vip.sc.edu on the Internet. To use TIPS, dial
2-8477 on campus, or (803) 251 -8477 off campus.
