When I dined there, I ordered an appetizer of oysters on the half shell. The server came back to inform me that there were none available, so I ordered another appetizer. It, too, was out. So, as the old saying goes, the third time was a charm, and I went for my old stand-by ? the crab cakes. They were fine, but not memorable. As an entree, I ordered the halibut. Soon, not at all to my surprise, the server returned to say that they were out of that, too. So, after having flung up my arms in despair, I ordered the mahi-mahi, and it was quite good. The server was nirp enough In Hisrniint the meal for my troubles, so I suppose it was fine in the end. However, the fact that everything I wanted from the menu was out was quite disappointing. I dined at The Blue Marlin with a couple of friends, both of whom were somewhat disappointed in their meals. One friend ordered fried catfish fingers as an appetizer. To me, it looked just like something I have seen at a local Long John Silver's, only this cost four times as much. Another friend ordered ?i Diners at The Blue Martin in the Vista r*_ II iya ck ie Marlin have any a bowl of the minestrone, which he sai< was great. However, he was disap pointed in the size of the fried oys ters in his entree, saying they wen mainly breading. All in all, The Blue Marlin is fai in the way of seafood, but I think th< bottom line is that I won't be return ing there anytime soon. Groucho's Deli Out of four stars 611 Harden St. Five Points $ Ever since a good friend introduce me to Groucho's in Five Points my fresh man year, it has been one of my ver favorite lunch spots in town. My fa vorite sandwich on Groucho's men is the STP, a sandwich made wit' turkey and roast beef, topped with pre vOlone cheese and bacon bits. They ir elude their famous dipping sauce, whici is heavy with dill. It's not for the healtl nut, but it's a very satisfying lunch In addition to many good sandwich es, Groucho's serves some fine vege tarian items. The one thing I must say that Grou cho's could imorove uDon is the icei tea. As a good Southerner, I have be come quite the iced tea connoisseui and I have to give Groucho's a "thumb down" in that department. It is easy to understand why Grou cho's is such a popular lunch place am has been since the 1940s. I expect i they continue serving the same awe some but simple lunch specials, theyl be around for many years to come Key to pricing guides: $ = $l-$10per person $$ = $ll-$20 Ashton June Photo Editc Etc.
