USC is only getting bigger. The student population will grow, and that means the campus will grow. With the current master plan, the campus will be moving further south and west. With this growth, there will only be more campus. The current parking system will just call for more garages. All garages do is hold cars; they are ugly and add nothing to the campus landscape. And to build more garages, we usually have to sacrifice green space. The path to an aesthetically pleasing campus does not involve destroying green space to put up eyesores. If the administration is really looking toward the future, it needs to plan for these possibilities. Only by thinking about the long term will we have a chance at becoming a truly great university. ?ed rights g: What is it that 5? What are they shouting and pointing to do, and no one gets heard in the cacophony. Sometimes I wonder if there aren't too many rights running around today ? or at least too many privileges claiming status as rights. A person's rights ending where another's begin sounds like a simple plan, but the gray area gets bigger as each person decides the rights of other people should take up less space. Nothing's wrong with vegetarianism. The subject was close by, so I grabbed it to make my point. But when vegetarians feel they have to defend their right not to risk violating an animal's rights, it makes you wonder just what kind of threat is out there in the rights arena ? and how far it will go.
