While David (Bud) appreciates the seemingly comfortable world of Pleasantville, Jennifer (Mary Sue) is determined to corrupt it. t" It soon becomes apparent that no id one is truly happy with life in Pleasantville. I was le very pleased to see that someone else of feels that this world we live in isn't e" so bad. Sure we have to deal with El r's Nino, ozone depletion, and dysfunctional households, but let's face it, there are no perfect realities. Stirring up life in a "pleasant" sitcom world struck me as the perfect approach to getting across that blandness is pointless. The thrill of the unknown is the sole basis for living. Without it, there would be nothing to live for. Yet in the static environment of Pleasantville, the unknown doesn't exist for "There is nothing outside of Pleasantville." "Pleasantville" is truly a great movie and brings to life the idea that deep down inside of us there lives a common passion to break free from discrimination and be true to our selves. It also stresses the old saying that "the grass isn't always greener on the other side." blars se. Ip you manage wnrri^c Wl I w w : great benefits. IS* ft J A ,'flp m B ^B Bp jit card." site at |
