according to Cynthia M.
Robinson, public information director
for the Richland County Recreation
Commission, is to celebrate the spirit
of the community and provide an outlet
for the youth.

sponsors share a common goal of providing
opportunities for area youth to
"show off" in a positive manner before
their peers, families and community,
and to be rewarded for their efforts.
Robinson said the event is hoping

area. She said most of the scheduled
performers are singers.
"You always hear the negative. We
are trying to present the youth in a
positive light," Robinson said.
Representatives from national
recording companies will be at the
event to judge the talent.
Winners will receive cash and
other prizes.
Coca-Cola Culture Jam will also
expose young people to many community
resources that help youth development.
