Frans, a senior Journalism and psychology major, is a member of Golden Key Na- 1 tional Honor Society, Omicron I Delta Kappa and Mortar 1 Board. i She is also involved as a : USC Ambassador and Addiction Counselor at Charter ( Rivers Hospital. ] Allison Freeman, Lauren ] Griswold, Jamie Massey, Sta- j cy Race and Frans were the five finalists out of a field of 56 ' applicants. Race and Frans are 1 both Fulbright finalists. "I felt like the scruffy the- 1 ater kid on stage with women ] who've done many good 1 things," said Freeman, a Theater and English major. ( "Being nominated meant , something. Ifs nice to look good on paper, but that a profes- j sor noticed me made me more happy." J Race agreed and said she was honored. Faculty, staff and other students nominated about 150 women although only about half applied.
