According to a recent press release, a full ^ house is expected and, since there is no reserved ^ seating for this event, early attendance is encouraged. The performance is co-sponsored by WISTV. The Hallelujah Singers will perform a ver sion of their most popular production, "Frogmore Stew," a combination of melodies from church, harvest and blues that celebrates various aspects of the Gullah culture. In honor of this event the Honors College threw itself a birthday party Thursday. John Palms, president of USC,; Pe ter Sederberg, dean of the Honors Col^ lege; and William Hubbard and MarieLouise Ramsdale, both USC honors ? alumni, all spoke during the program held at Harper College. "The Golden Age of the Honors College is now," Sederberg said at the party. Ramsdale, now an attorney in Columbia and founder of City Year Columbia, said she never once regretted her decision to attend USC. She said it prepared her for Harvard Law School as wpll as nnv Tvv T.pncnip srfmnl could have. "I did go to an Ivy League school. I just went to what we call Palmetto Ivy," said Ramsdale. All speakers concluded by hoping the Honors College continues to grow and raise the standard of education in South Carolina.
