6 WUSCbe l ERIN REED Staff Writer J ] WUSC's 1980s weekend began at 1 12 a.m. this morning. 1 All weekend WUSC disc jockeys will be playing only 1980s music. Station 1 manager Drew Harton said they'll play mostly "really poppy, top-40" songs and "a few forgotten things." "There will be an emphasis on pop," Harton said, "But, individual DJs will reflect on their own musical tastes." The station has suspended its normal music policy of "no top-40 music" for the weekend. WUSC encourages everyone to call the station to make requests and to make donations to the station in exchange for their reauest being Dlaved ! on the air. However, donations "aren't necessary, but it's nice," according to ( Harton. Expect to hear 1980s favorites like ] Prince and the Revolution, Duran Duran, Madonnna, Pet Shop Boys, Men , at Work and the Thompson Twins.
