"I am just moving back into the
area. I was able to find out about
some new businesses around town
through The Gamecock," Dalbec said.
Both Jenkins and Dalbec said
they could see benefits in the
"Carolina's Best" survey.
"I think it is a benefit for both
[students and businesses]," Dalbec
said. If she is eligible to win next
year, she said she will participate
again.
"It only takes a few minutes and
it is a service also to see what people
like. Why not [fill out a ballot]?"
Jenkins said.

"They were happy to know they
had won. The runner-ups wanted to
know how many votes they were
from winning," Taylor said.
"To a certain degree, this was a
service. It is good for businesses to
know where students really go. It
lets them know that USC is a good
population to target," she said.
Taylor said she wants to make
this an annual event.
Tt was good this year but we want
to improve it and get the bugs ironed
out," she said.
The Gamecock's "Seek and You
Shall Find" promotion begins today.
Students who find the hidden
gamecock image in various issues
of the newspaper have an opportunity
to win prizes.
