28 use BRIEFS Football South Carolina's home football game against the University of Georgia on Saturday, Sept. 14 will be televised nationally by ESPN with a starting time set for 7:30 p.m. at Williams-Brice Stadium. The game is the SEC opener for both teams and is a change from the original starting time of 7 p.m. USC's Homecoming game against Mississippi State on Saturday, Sept. 28 will be televised as the SEC Game of the Week by Jefferson-Pilot Sports TV. Starting time will be 12:30 p.m., a change from the original starting time of 1 p.m. Carolina sophomore offensive tackle Jamar Nesbit was chosen to the preseason All-SEC football teaA. Nesbit, a 6-4,303-pounder from Summerville, S.C., was named to the SEC All-Freshman squad in 1995. As a true freshman, he started the last 10 games at split guard. He was moved to offensive tackle during spring practice. Basketball The USC men's basketball team will face the Cavaliers of Virginia on Nov. 25 at 11:30 a.m. (Hawaii time) in the first round of the 13th annual Maui Classic Invitational, hosted by Chaminade University.
