Some days you have it, and some
days you don't.
Friday, the Gamecocks had it, and
Saturday, they didn't.
After scoring 11 runs on 16 hits
against the Georgia Bulldogs Friday, *
USC couldn't muster much of anything /
Saturday, and lost 7-2. Then Sunday, both
teams seemed to have plenty offense
anH nn nitrhinir as USC won a thriller. 't i

Friday's game featured Gamecock
ace, Jason Haynie on the mound and
the senior didn't let anyone down. Going
seven innings, he gave up one run and
struck out five while picking up the win

innings in relief.
The offense was led by freshman first
baseman Eric Stanton and catcher Brian
Hucks. Stanton went 34 with two RBI.
Hucks went 2-4, including a homerun,
with four RBI.
The Gamecocks did all their damage
in three innings. They put up four runs
in thfe third and fifth innings and scored
three in the eighth.
But Saturday's outing was a different
story. The Gamecock's bats took the day
off as USC was defeated by UGA 7-2.
Bulldog pitcher Zack rrachiseur pitched th
eight solid innings of baseball, giving up 0.

"The pitcher dictated again. St

He's a freshman with a good arm," said
USC head coach June Raines. "I'm a w<
