USCs Melton Observatory will offer extended viewing hours when the comet is most visible. The observatory, normally open every clear Monday night from 8:30-10:30 p.m., will stay open until 2 a.m. on March 25 and April 1, weather permitting. In addition, a special viewing opportunity will be available March 30 from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. As Hyakutake will be well above the horizon in the wee hours each morning it is visible, the late-night viewing should give stargazers their best opportunities to see the comet. It is expected to be visible through the month of April. The peak viewing times will be March 24-26.
