Aaron Williamon, a senior psychology and music major was also awarded a scholarship. While abroad, Williamon plans to conduct research and take several courses in cognitive psychology. Williamon is especially interested in studying the psychology of music. In addition, Michael Santarlas, a senior marine science major received a scholarship. Santarlas plans to study geographical information systems and their application to marine ecology and coral reef management. He will conduct his studies at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. The fifth USC student awarded the scholarship is junior Elena Ellison. She is a media arts major. Ellison will study film at the University of Wacked in Hamilton, New Zealand.
