On-line tips f I want to use the column this week to pass on a few noteworthy news items and tips for Internet and CMS users. Netscape and the Web. World Wide Web users rejoice! Netscape, a new freeware program from Mosaic Communications, is making the Web faster and more enjoyable for everyone. Its interface is so fast that even 14.4-baud modem users with Internet access will find it acceptable for Web browsing. Netscape supports "continuous doca a *9* ATT 1 li il i umeni streaming. t,wow, aoesnttnat sound technical?) For you non-techies, this means you can interact with a Web document even as it is loading into your computer, instead of having to wait for the full download as before. Netscape can also act as a Usenet news reader and display JPEG (a type of graphic) files on its own. The program is available in Windows, Macintosh, or X Window versions by file transfer protocol at ftp.mcom.com. Those of you without ftp access can get Netscape from commercial on-line services or local bulletin board systems. If you arent familiar with the World Wide Web, you should give it a try.
