Associatioi alumni act From staff reports t The Alumni Association at USC is vital in keeping alumni united '< and in touch with university events 1 and for raising money for scholar- I ships. < The association serves over I 160,000 alumni worldwide. It offers 50 alumni clubs across the United 1 States and Canada for alumni to keep 1 in touch with each other, according j to Dot Gaddis, receptionist of the Alumni House. "Our clubs are very active," Gaddis 1 said. 'They get together often. If an 1 alumnus is in the computer with an active address, they will get information on alumni club meetings in J their area. They get together to view j football games, go to art shows, go i CLASS University of 6 CLASS University of ? i unites oss U.S. o Broadway plays. "They also work as networks. If an ilumnus moves to a new area, they ivill be put in contact with a contact person, and they can answer any questions or help with any problems :he new person has," she said. Members of the Alumni Association can use the Blatt P.E. Center and the Thomas Cooper Library for free md receive a quarterly newspaper, The Carolinian. All students receive a year's free membership upon graduation. After the first year, dues are $25 for singles and $35 for couples. Whether that path leads di rectly into the job market or on tc graduate school, choosing a careei needs to be done with thought ant research. One way to get information abou a specific career is by meeting with a professional in the field in a "in formation interview." This type o interview gives students the op portunity to learn about what the; feel a particular career involves ant the possible career options tha would fit those ideas.
