USC to celebra in Russian cull From staff reports USC will celebrate its involvement in Russian culture, business and scientific research April 28 with a full day of events, including a dinner featuring the world-famous Russian poet Yevgeny Yevtushenko. "No university in the United States has sponsored a broader range of research projects in the former Soviet Union than USC," said Mary Ellen O'Leary, a senior instructor in mathematics and president of the Thomas Cooper Society, sponsor of the events. Yevtushenko will discuss cultural < changes in Russia during a dinner address at 7:30 p.m. in the Russell House Ballroom. The Thomas Cooper Society also will announce the es- 1 tablishment of a Russian Collection in the Thomas Cooper Library during the event. i A 6 p.m. reception on the library's mezzanine level will honor Siberian i artist Irma Khudyakova, who is giv- i ing USC 150 watercolors depicting life in Siberia. The artist's son will be present to make the donation.
