New Fee Pa SPRING 1994 PRE-BILLING Students who register for the 1994 < Spring Semester before December 2, 1993 will receive a bill that will be very different from the bill received in the past. The new bill will list the classes the student is registered for and the charges the student currently owes the University. Additionally, the bill will list the student's financial aid. For the first time this financial aid can be used during the prepayment time frame to pay the bill. The following is an explanation of the new bill: (T) Section One of the bill will be the schedule of courses the student is currently enrolled in at the time of billing. These courses were used in computing the charges , due. Students will be billed at the part-time rate if their courses reflect that they are parttime students. Students are urged to register during their TIPS registration appointment time and make every effort to enroll as fulltime students if they wish to be billed at the full-time rate (12 hours) for fee purposes. (2) The upper portion of Section Two of the bill will be used to convey general messages such as the final date to pay fees prior to cancellation. The lower portion of Section Two will contain payment options and instructions that pertain specifically to this student. i (5) The left side of Section Three of the . bill will display the charges due at the time of billing. The right side of Section Three will display all available and pending financial ^ aid. Available financial aid is that aid that has j* been finalized and approved by the Office of "" Student Financial Aid and Scholarships. Aid not yet finalized will be listed in the pending m. column, and the code listed adjacent to the pending column will be explained on the bottom right of Section Three. < Because of federal timing restraints and T"" regulations, NO STAFFORD OR SLS (SUPPLEMENTAL) CHECKS WILL BE SENT TO THE UNIVERSITY IN TIME TO BE AVAILABLE AID ON THE PREBILL. If you are receiving a Stafford or SLS loan, you may call TIPS after December 29 and use these loans to prepay your Spring Semester charges. YOU MUST COME TO THE COLISEUM DURING REGISTRAtion to rwnoDcc vot to ctacmon OR SLS LOAN CHECKS. (3) Section Four of the bill is a reprint of Section Three that will be retained by the Bursar's Office. (D If you wish to add optional fees you may use the reverse side of the bill. Section Five. Some examples of fees that may be added are meal plans, cash cards, insurance, etc.. If you add optional charges to the bill, do not add them aeain through TIPS. It is recommended that students with Stafford or SLS pending financial aid call TIPS after December 29 to pay their bill. After this date most of these loans will have been sent to the University and can be used to pay the Spring Semester bill. However, if the student has not met other criteria such as federal loan counseling or advisement, the loan will not be available until all criteria have been met.
