USC's top student leaders are being called on ^
to apply for leadership mentor roles by Sept. 17 ^
at the Campus Activities Center.
The center started the Emerging Leader ^
Program in 1988 and the Leadership Mentor f
Program in 1990 to make sure USC's leaders
were putting their talents to use.
"We saw a need to group incoming leaders s
with established student leaders on campus," 0

Leadership mentors are expected to attend an
Emerging Leader/ Mentor retreat Sept. 28 in the
Russell House Ballroom and' class graduation
Nov. 17.
Leadership mentors should also meet with
their mentee at least three times outside of
scheduled events. Through these situations, the
Campus Activities Center hopes a new friendship
will develop.
"The Emerging Leader/ Leadership mentor
programs offer students more of a personal orientation
to Carolina," said Meghan Keally, a
graduate intern in leadership programs.
Students interested in becoming leadership
mentors should pick up an application in the
Campus Activities Center. The application deadline
is Friday, Sept. 17. Applicants must have
leadership experience, 60 hours and a cumulative
CPA of 2.5. For more information, call 777-5780.
