Expectations are high going into
the 1993 USC football season, and
Head Coach Sparky Woods is optimistic
about spring training and
Southeastern Conference competition.
The 1992 campaign was a season
of ups and downs and controversy,
featuring a young team lacking
maturity.
"We thought, going into the season,
that it was going to be really
important that young players contribute,"
Woods said. "In order to
do that, we thought that the older
Dlavers were noine to have to nro
vide the environment for those
young players to contribute.
"We got off to a rough start and
set goals at the beginning of the
year," Woods said. "Our goal was
really to improve and win games."
In the beginning of the season,
tilings looked dismal for the team
and Gamecock fans with losses to

The Gamecocks experience their i!

big question mark," Woods said.
The Gamecocks spent most of
