Connells, fIREHOSE to rock Paladium in April concert From Staff Reports The Paladium will give area college students a last chance to party before finals and a chance to celebrate the end of the semester with a pre-finals concert event. The Connells, fIREHOSE, Dillon Fence and Buffalo Tom will perform at the Paladium at 7 p.m. April 24 with their unique brands of music. Tickets for the concert are $9.57 and go on sale at noon Sunday, March 29. Tickets can be purchased at area Ticketmaster ticket centers by calling Ticketmaster at (704) 552-6500 or at the Paladium box office on Carowinds operating days. Based in Raleigh, N.C., the Connells have emerged as one of the south's favorite rock bands. The group's latest album, "One Simple Word," has produced hits such as "Stone Cold Yesterday" and "Speak to Me." Their light pop music has been compared to such super groups as R.E.M. and The Beatles with their engaging melodies, catchy guitar rilfs and original harmonics.
