South Carolina will oper against 12th-ranked Vanderbil Friday. Vandy sports a 17-9 recorc overall, and 6-5 in the SEC seeding them fifth going in th< tournament. South Carolina fin ished the regular season as th( 12th seed with a 13-14 record 2-9 in the SEC. The Lady Game cocks defeated Vandy 72-65 ear lier this season. The winner of the opening round match-up will face fourthseeded Georgia Saturday. Georgia has a bye in the first round, South Carolina dropped a onepoint decision to the Lady Bulldogs in Athens, Ga.,Jan. 18.
