Waterski By SEAN RYAN Staff Writer It's the middle of winter, a time when many USC students pack up equipment, head for the mountains and hit the slopes for a weekend of skiing. There are some students at USC, however, that are taking up skiing of another kind. The Waterski Club will begin its season Wednesday with a meeting open to all at the Sol Blatt P.E. Center at 8 p.m. The Waterski Club has been a part of USC since the '70s. The club is coming off a dormant stage that has been revived by junior president John Fischer and senior treasurer Rob Lang. Together, they hope the club is here to stay. These 10 can be found traveling out to Lake Murray on days when other students are bundling up and trying to stay warm. In the off season, the club skis one to two times a week. This increases to five times a week during the season. The club competes in the South Atlantic Conference, which includes schools from North and South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee. Competition includes individual and team performances.
