Instead, their hopes of a fun evening turned to misfortune when Oglesby was struck outside the Main Street bar. Oglesby now awaits the results of a Thursday morning CAT (Computer Actual Tomography) scan to determine how much longer he must stay at Richland Memorial Hospital. Oglesby "was struck in the head by an unknown suspect in the parking lot at the Cock Pit" at 1:30 a.m., a Columbia Police report stated. Oglesby was soon transported to the hospital and treated for a fractured skull, bruises on both sides of the brain, a swelling of the head and severe ear damage. Oglesby and his friends, Jason Ligon and Eric Vinson, all under the age of 21, entered the popular 21-and-oldcr bar with no problems. "We got in with valid ID's showing that we were 18. They stamped our hands and gave us no problems," Vinson said. He went on to say he could not see what happened to Oglesby. When they finally spotted him, Oglesby was lying on the sidewalk with the injuries to his head.
