Interested in rock climbing you say? No problem. There's a club for it Becoming involved in an activity not only gives you something ~ interesting to do, but it introduces v you to a new group of people that you have something in common 5 with. This can be a great way to . make some of the best friends you'll have during your college 3' years. There are three primary catago' ries of organizations on campus: * sports clubs/teams, service organi zations and social organizations. 1 Anything athletic can be in* eluded under the heading of sports. Options range from the equestrian 5 club to intramural soccer. _ Service groups are much what f Cr if I< ortfolio meeting! it happen again. rl i woyo J issell House PM 4 f s I ustment I ; they sound like, groups that focus in helping the community and unis versity. This does not, however, mean there isn't a social part too. i For example, on campus there is i everything from Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity to Campus Coalition for Literacy. Social organizations are also pretty self explanatory. Their function is primarily to give students a chance to socialize with a group of people they share some common bond with. These can encompass everything from various fraternities and sororities to the Gay and Lesbian Student Association. So starting out at USC doesn't have to mean being lost and lonely. Student life offers something for everyone. Lists of what the campus has to offer can be picked up at the Department of Student Affairs. r mjm ffl| m HH :' ^^^"JlJipr / NwList Ah ^BBMgl|^aB Ipr ?t}w - ' PBfc^^xJr m ' ? |[^|3P: 1M| MpB ny| HHSKBIBi BBin^ JBBHK^PIB IB??9bI Cr^P^H >v Greg Rickabaugh/The Gamecock Senior English major Chuck Walker reads at the reflection pond Tuesday afternoon. |BH jfl I ^^Sl: fi^Bhylf; ?r -3 -'ft ^tilL 1 Hs?v ^fe'w 4 I ^ /l^S^ J #, ;|P( ^B mX .BB b^. \} \ -- ^ - ^ U S r^ / ..^?5^ Wwliuikhi .tji^x /,tV"-v^^^l^K^HI^^I ^ y>k ,i^S I T^BHraH ? ^ \ ^A 4** x B a ^Ksfl ^ 1 ^I tjji| , <f**v n^ A Pi|T ,,XJ ^^^^^^^K3VMPR9PRIRf!nnr9 L> \ _ HMMMM&^^ ft
