Celebration < chamber cor By KATHY HEBERGER Carolina Life Editor Mozart, Mozart and more Mozart will be featured Tuesday night at the USC Chamber Orchestra's performance at the Koger Center for the Arts. The performance commemorates the composer, who began his triumphs in music as a cnua ana eventually wrote about 140 symphonies. This year is the bicentennial celebration of his death. "You have to love Mozart. It's very evident in these pieces why we like Mozart so much. I think students should try to come because they'll enjoy it," assistant conductor John Ricarte said. The concert will begin with Mozart's motet "Exultate Jubilate" with soprano Laury Christie, who is a voice professor. The second piece will be "Symphony No. 33." Both these pieces will include bassonists and brass players from the USC Symphony Orchestra. The final piece of the concert will be "Sinfonia Concertante " a concerto few violin and viola. Conductor Donald Portnoy will perform the violin part, and viola professor Frits DeJonge will perform the viola part. The USC Chamber Orchestra concert will begin at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Koger Center.
