Benjamin Continued from page 1 out his term in office. The creed was passed in the fall and gives students a goal to work toward to be non-discriminatory and eliminate bigotry. "The highlight of the year as far as cultural diversity must be the adoption of the creed. .. I think it is something we will hold dear to our hearts, kind of like the alma mater," he said. When he was campaigning for office, Benjamin said he would try to get tuition levels lowered by putting pressure on legislators, an idea that S.G. President-elect Manish Shrivastava has brought to the foreground of his platform. Shrivastava, however, has taken the idea one step further. He proposes to not only to put pressure on the legislative gladiators, but to put their names on a "hit list" and vote them out of office. Benjamin believes this plan will work, and said he will help Shrivastava pp.t the nlan under wav. However, when he was working with different legislators to reduce tuition, he found that the opinion at the State House is that USC must do some internal management before it can be viewed as "being in need" by the state Legislature. Benjamin plans to go on to study law, either at USC or somewhere in the Southeast. He wants to study criminal law and said he once had aspirations to be a public defender, an occupation where a love of public service is mandatory. The idea is to find out what the people need and then try and serve them the best you can, he said.
