The highlight of Carolina Cares' feek is the University Tree Lightlg. The tree lighting will be held unday at 7 p.m. on the [orseshoe. "It is a very beautiful and festive activity. We encourage everyone to attend. We want the Columbia community to get involved as well as the students of USC," said Myrick-Pendarvis. Carolina Cares week does not only involve Carolina Cares' members. "We invite all student groups to snonsnr p.vpntc tr? hpln thp needy," said Myrick-Pendarvis, "like adopting a family for the holiday season." Carolina Cares' major holiday fundraiser is the selling of gift tags throughout December. The tags are sold by Carolina Cares members and the proceeds go to Richland Memorial Children's Hospital. "We try to make this season better for everybody, maybe a little happier," Myrick-Pendarvis said. Carolina Cares programs are pen to anyone who is interested in helping others.
