Buffalo, Denver, Miami and Sacramento will appear before the National League's expansion committee to say why they should get one of the two expansion franchises that will begin play in 1993. Charlotte, Nashville, Orlando and Washington, D.C. will appear Wednesday, while St. Petersburg and Phoenix make their presentations a week from Friday. Smith announced Sept. 17 that he will meet laterthis week with Southeastern Conference Commissioner Roy Kramer. Kramer will be on the USC campus later this week to meet with Smith and USC Athletic Director King Dixon to discuss the SEC expansion plans.
