Professors, pressured into a relationship they
do not agree with, feel the effects of the support
USC is giving the Savannah River Site, a USC
professor said Wednesday.
USC is supporting not only the research facility,
but the mission of the plant, which is to
produce nuclear weapons materials, USC Government
and International Studies Professor Peter

said, "We're trying to resolve the problems this
plant has left the people of South Carolina."
Sederberg said the advantages of such a relationship
are the financial resources available for
the university, a reputation for the relationship
with SRS and a service to humanity. But he
said the university has a responsibility to do
something about cleaning up the plant, because
USC is a public service university.
Sederberg's main concern is the effect the relationship
