Carlos Hunt was told, not C asked, that he would play defens sive back while Mickey Wilson n would become first suing quarterback. He was informed also that if s he did not play defensive back, he n would not play at all. As for Robbie Squatrigha's being replaced by Lauren Reddick, that did happen. The reason for this switching the quarterback was because Robbie's performance the night of the switch consisted of poor rushing yardage, several ins complete passes and a mere five i interceptions. The switch, I must s admit, was one of the best decij sions Coach Jordan ever made r Now as far as the Rev. Single? ton, who is suspended with pay ? racial injustice is definitely seen in 1 this action. A mere 27 white parents call John Dawsey and got i Singleton suspended. Dawsey even , mentions that he suspended Single1 ton with pleasure. But when more 1 than 100 blacks approach Dawsey r for the removal of Coach Jordan, I he does nothing to remove Jordan. Not much thinking has to be done [ to see this racial bigotry. ' In conclusion, I would like to i say that this controversy is definitely a serious one and needs to I be solved soon. Curtis Richardson Biology freshman USC should provide ride To the editor: For many students here at USC, finding a ride^to Carolina football games can be quite a nerve-racking experience. Many students come here without transportation and others just don't like to brave the long trek there due to incompetent drivers weaving back and forth who try to get somewhere, but seldom do. It is my opinion that the univercitv chmilH molra availokla Viz* y-j uii vuiU illUIVV (4 T UIIU UIV IIIV ShuttleCock buses to provide adequate transportation to students, provided they pay for the gas and the drivers. This service for students would not only reduce the traffic, but would help keep students who have had too much to drink off the streets after the game. I believe this is a good idea for USC students to get behind and persuade the administration to put into action during the 1989 season. Vernon Suthard Journalism freshman
