CAROLINA Weekend The first week is over, and with no classes Labor Day, it's high time to take a little break. Here are some suggestions for a mini-vacation this weekend: Check out the Columbia Museum of Art at Senate and Bull streets. The museum has free admission for everyone and is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Two new exhibitions begin Sunday: Cinderella in the Upper East Gallery and Augusta Rembert Willkowsky Walsh in the Lower East Gallery. The Kress Collection of Baroque and Renaissance fainlings is included in CMA's permanent holdings. Bull Durham is showing at 9 p.m. tonight and Saturday at the Russell House Theater, and the 11:30 p.m. late show is Predator. Tickets for each show are $2. If books and pizza have emptied your wallet, don't despair. McKissick Museum on The Horseshoe is showing a free movie, National Geographic: The Coral Reef\ at 3 p.m. Sunday. The museum also has works of USC art professor Boyd Saunders and two former professors on display through Oct. 1, other exhibits and a permanent collection of Baruch Silver from the 16th-19th centuries. The beaches will likely be packed for the holiday weekend ? so it might be a good time to head to the mountains instead. The area around Boone, N.C. offers outdoors activities including camping, hiking, rafting and inner-tubing, with the extra-added bonus of cool weather. It takes just over three hours to make the drive. CW / y UANC ims COST IT W CAPEZ10, DAI BAR Shoes j P Bags Wi .
